About Ivy Blossoms & Our Childcare Programs

FAQ's
What are the hours of operation at Ivy Blossoms Childcare?

Ivy Blossoms Childcare Center is open from 7am to 6pm on Monday through Friday in Wesley Chapel, FL serving Pasco and Hillsborough county residents. We do have yearly closures and early release days that are communicated to parents well in advanced. Hours may also differ during special events such as Parent Meetings, Date Nights, and Saturday Drop Offs.

What ages of children does Ivy Blossoms Childcare accept?

Ivy Blossoms Childcare Center provides care and early learning programs for children from infancy through preschool age. Our programs are designed to meet children where they are developmentally, from their first experiences away from home through preparation for kindergarten.

What childcare programs does Ivy Blossoms offer?

Ivy Blossoms offers infant care, toddler care, preschool, and Florida VPK. We also participate in programs that may help eligible families with childcare costs, including School Readiness and Step Up For Students.

What is the difference between daycare, preschool, and VPK?

Childcare or daycare provides children with a safe, nurturing place to spend the day while parents work or attend to other responsibilities. Preschool combines childcare with developmentally appropriate early education. VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) is Florida's free early learning program for eligible children before kindergarten.

At Ivy Blossoms, children can receive both care and early learning in an environment designed to support their development.

Does Ivy Blossoms provide a learning curriculum?

Yes. Children participate in developmentally appropriate learning experiences throughout the day. Activities are designed to encourage early literacy, language, mathematics, science, creativity, physical development, social skills, and independence.

What does a typical day at Ivy Blossoms look like?

A typical day includes a balance of learning, play, meals and snacks, rest, social interaction, outdoor activities, and hands-on experiences. The daily routine varies according to the child's age and classroom.

What enrichment activities are available?

Ivy Blossoms incorporates a variety of hands-on experiences throughout the year, including music and movement, gardening, cooking, sensory activities, Spanish exposure, mindfulness, soccer, reading activities, and special themed experiences.

Questions Parents Should Ask Before Choosing a Daycare

FAQ's
What should I look for when choosing a daycare?

Parents should consider more than just location and price. Look at the classroom environment, teacher-child interactions, safety procedures, daily routines, communication with parents, learning opportunities, meals, outdoor play, hours, and whether the program meets your child's individual needs.

We encourage families to visit childcare centers in person and ask questions before enrolling.

What questions should I ask during a daycare tour?

Some helpful questions include:

  • What does a typical day look like?

  • How are parents updated about their child's day?

  • What is the daily schedule?

  • How are meals and snacks handled?

  • What happens when a child becomes sick?

  • How does the center handle allergies?

  • How much outdoor play do children receive?

  • What learning activities are provided?

  • How does the center prepare children for kindergarten?

  • What are the enrollment and withdrawal policies?

  • What tuition assistance programs are accepted?

How can I prepare my child for starting daycare?

Starting childcare is a big transition for both children and parents. Before the first day, you can begin practicing routines such as getting dressed, eating meals at scheduled times, cleaning up toys, and saying goodbye confidently. Talk positively about school, explain what will happen in simple language, and give your child opportunities to practice being away from you when appropriate.

How can I help my child adjust to daycare?

It is normal for some children to need time to adjust to a new environment. A consistent morning routine, a confident goodbye, and regular communication with your child's teachers can help make the transition easier.

Children often take their emotional cues from their parents, so reassuring your child that they are safe, loved, and will see you again can be helpful.

What makes a childcare center a good fit for my family?

The right childcare center depends on your family's individual needs. Consider your child's age and personality, your work schedule, location, budget, preferred learning environment, communication preferences, and the type of relationship you want to have with your child's caregivers.

A tour is one of the best ways to determine whether a center feels like the right environment for your family.
